    Sega Genesis

    The Sega Genesis is a 16-bit video game console that was released in 1988 in Japan as the Mega Drive and in 1989 in North America as the Genesis. It was Sega's third console and was a key player in the fourth generation of consoles, also known as the 16-bit era. The Genesis is best known for being the console where the Sonic the Hedgehog series began.
